'' was the final 1990s album by the
Heavy Metal band
Iron Maiden that featured
Bruce Dickinson as lead vocalist. Dickinson felt the band had run its course and then recorded solo albums. Dickinson was succeeded by
Blaze Bayley , formerly of
Wolfsbane for two studio albums until Dickinson returned to Iron Maiden in
1999 .
The title track of the album was apparently inspired by
Steve Harris 's childhood fear. "From Here To Eternity" is often considered the fourth song in the
Charlotte The Harlot saga.
"Be Quick Or Be Dead", "From Here To Eternity" and "Wasting Love" were released as singles.
