A troubled teen gets more than bargained for when sent to his aunt and uncle's farm for the summer. In Family Bones rebellious teen Sean is shuttled from one family member to the next, finally landing at the farm owned by his elderly Aunt and Uncle, Ray and Faye Copeland . There, the city boy must quickly adapt to the rigors of farm life. Sean must also adjust to the emotional and physical abuse that Uncle Ray visits upon his wife and nephew. As Sean struggles to cope, he befriends a strong-willed Latina, Wendy. The country girl's hesitancy in getting too close suggests a brand of abuse within her own family. As Sean helps to restore her trust in the opposite sex, Wendy aids him in quelling his rebellious nature. Meanwhile, suspicious events are playing out on the farm. Uncle Ray has a habit of convincing transient Farm hands to purchase cows by illicit means ... and then the "business partner" suddenly goes missing.
