False Cape Horn is the southernmost point of the large Island s of the Tierra Del Fuego group, located close to the mainland of South America .

This mistake caused several shipwrecks.

Administratively, False Cape Horn is part of the province of Magallanes Y La Antártica Chilena , Chile .
