GEOGRAPHY


Falling Spring is located at 37°59'28" North, 80°21'19" West (37.991232, -80.355182).

According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 1.4 Km&2 (0.5 Mi&2 ). 1.3 km&2 (0.5 mi&2) of it is land and 0.1 km&2 (0.04 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 3.77% water.


DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 209 people, 85 households, and 57 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 158.2/km&2 (411.1/mi&2). There were 113 housing units at an average density of 85.5/km&2 (222.2/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White , 0.00% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.00% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.48% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 85 households out of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.6% were Married Couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.9% were non-families. 27.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the town the population was spread out with 21.1% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 19.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 101.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.9 males.
