FACTIONS As of April 10, 2006, three Factions exist in the game: Federation, Empire, and the Union. MISSIONS A variety of missions can be done in order to gain rank. Each mission causes the player to progress towards the next rank, and will give the player a monetary reward. As the player progresses in rank, all missions get harder, and the time-limits shorter making requiring more planning on the player's part. Package transport missions give players an amount of secret passages that must be transported to a predetermined starbase or planet. Explosives transport missions are like package missions, only all explosives on board will detonate when the player encounters a wormhole anomaly, doing damage directly to the player's hull. Consequently, the amount to transport is lower, and the time-limits and pay are higher. Assassination missions require the player to kill monsters. Depending on the mission, the player must kill either a specific monster, or a number of monsters of a certain type. In VIP missions, the player must carry a special commodity called VIP. With a VIP on board, the player can only be carrying fuel, robots and the VIP. When on VIP missions, the player must gain a certain amount of Experience Point s with the VIP on board and then return the VIP to the point of departure. RANKS The ranks for the Federation are as follows: 1. Recruit 2. Private 3. Corporal 4. Sergeant 5. Sergeant-Major 6. Major 7. Colonel 8. Lieutenant 9. Lieutenant Commander 10. Captain 11. Commodore 12. Rear Admiral 13. Admiral The ranks for the Empire are as follows: 1. Outsider 2. Serf 3. Master/Mistress 4. Sir/Dame 5. Squire 6. Lord/Lady 7. Baron/Baroness 8. Viscount/Viscountess 9. Count/Countess 10. Earl/Marchessa 11. Marquis/Marchioness 12. Duke/Duchess 13. Prince/Princess The ranks for the Union are as follows: 1. Flunkey 2. Minion 3. Acolyte 4. Bookie 5. Collector 6. Accountant 7. Cleaner 8. Made Man/Made Woman 9. Chief 10. Kingpin 11. Nephew / Niece 12. Son / Daughter 13. Godfather/Godmother Note that the Empire and Union have different ranks for male and female players. The out-of-order ranking system was inspired by the space-trading game Elite . |
