HISTORY The eXistence history, compiled by eX_bwp2001. Use the navigation bar on the left to browse through at your leisure. Thanks to those who have contributed to this history: bwp_2001, Link, DarkNight, Subzero, Darchind, Manix, Raw, Jai, and Krony. Part 1 In 1998, in the game of Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight (JK) on the MSN Gaming Zone, a clan known as Rogue Alliance (RA), was quite popular. The most successful leader was Acid Rain, and with him on the clan council was Purple Haze (Korzac). The two eventually left RA to form none other than the eXistence (eX). However, this early form of eXistence only lasted a few months, though it was rather successful. Acid Rain left for his own reasons, and Korzac moved on to another Jedi Knight clan known as the Galactic Empire (GE). The Galactic Empire, also called the Imperial Armed Forces, was formed in late 1998 and early 1999, and created for JK. Eventually internal disputes and attacks from another clan led to the abandonment of the Imperial Armed Forces, but in 2001, Lord Darchind resurrected it with others and created four divisions: the Galactic Imperial Army (GIA), Galactic Imperial Navy (GIN), Galactic Imperial Marine Core (GIMC), and Galactic Imperial Air Force (GIAF). During the height of the Galactic Empire, they not only had an iron grip on Jedi Knight, but also were responsible for the destruction of many other clans whom they claimed were ?dissidents? running ?dictatorships?, and the destruction of each clan was seen as a victory for the Galactic Empire. Many eX members were recruited into the Galactic Imperial Army, including Smokey. Smokey invited a former clan-mate named Kerid to join the GIA, and Kerid soon renamed himself RedTerror and was an extremely ambitious member of the GIA. Together they vowed to make the GIA the most powerful clan on the zone, launching a massive recruiting effort. RedTerror rapidly launched up the ranks, until he and Smokey, who then named himself Korzac, were the sole leaders of the GIA, aside from Lord Darchind. Korzac and RedTerror also created and led the Illuminati, a top-secret agency bent on controlling the zone through conspiracy and espionage. After some problems involving the GIA and Lord Darchind, RedTerror, who was now GIA_HGG_Erythro, suggested that the GIA secretly escape with a small group of loyal people (namely the Illuminati members and some others). The plan was not put into action. Erythro suddenly disappeared from the GIA for personal reasons. Although he tried to return later, real life events hindered him. During this time, the Galactic Imperial Army became a very powerful presence in Jedi Knight, and many groups were very jealous of the GIA for its structure and authority. However, Lord Darchind?s stricter republic form of governing soon clashed with many members of the GIA, and after the use of a swastika in the Galactic Empire forum which Darchind said was to scare away a disruptive poster, the situation grew out of control. Korzac marked Darchind as a racist and stated that there must have been a better way of getting rid of the poster. Darchind argued that Korzac was just finding an excuse to rebel. Consequently, Korzac packed up and took the members of the GIA with him. Korzac and the members helped create the eXistence Imperial Army (eXia). The eXistence Imperial Army was essentially the same as the GIA in mechanics, with similar ranking structures but less-enforced rules and a more relaxed environment. The GIA had deteriorated because of a lack of strong leadership, and most of the remaining members of the GIA left to join the eXia. Part 2 Darchind became infuriated when he found out what Korzac did, so he declared ?war? on the eXistence Imperial Army. He did this by inciting others in Jedi Knight with his crafty use of logic and phrasing to attack the eXia and declaring the eXia a ?dictatorship founded on frivolous means?. Darchind?s declaration of war on the eXia was unsuccessful, so he eventually gave up. The eXia immediately began recruiting, building a website/forum, and organizing the clan. Korzac wasn?t as active due to personal reasons, so Erythro led the clan in his stead. The eXia was operating effectively due to the Illuminati?s presence. However, Erythro suddenly had to leave, and the eXia wasn?t prepared for this. As a result, the eXia slowly died. The clan lasted almost a year, but eventually was abandoned during spring of 2002. However, during the fall and winter of 2002, Korzac returned and reformed most of the original members of the eXia (with a few exceptions, such as Jai). They created a democratic form of government, with three stages of command: the Illuminati, the Officers, and the Enlisted. The Illuminati consisted of President Korzac, Vice President Amoke, Director Xul, Director Tetsuma, and Locke. The Officers were chosen by the Illuminati and they were granted promotion privileges. A head officer known as the Chapter Commander ran the chapter assigned to them. Noon was the Chapter Commander for Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. Thus, Jedi Knigh became the first chapter for the clan. With a new set of regulations, a new government, and a new attitude, the clan was officially renamed eXistence (eX). Part 3 Shortly afterwards, Illuminati member Shock and his friend Maniac took down the eXia's website/forum and defected to the Galactic Imperial Army in hopes to revive the GIA's presence in Jedi Knight. The eXistence quickly launched their recruiting operation and recruits began pouring in. Memorable names such as bwp_2001 and JC were recruited during this time, and former GIA Nightstryke was admitted to the Illuminati and made Chief Engineer. JC and bwp_2001 quickly began helping to organize the eXistence, and during this time the ranks were decided upon for all Enlisted and Officers. Seeing the success in the chapter, Korzac created the Squads, which were two teams of members of the Jedi Knight chapter, one headed by Captain bwp_2001, the other by Captain JC. Though the concept of the Squads was promising and the captains remained on good terms, intense rivalry quickly developed and fighting occurred, leading to the dissolving of the Squads. A few days later, Shock and Maniac abandoned the GIA and took all their members over to the eXistence, including Manix, Venturous, Ryan and Neomatt. This caused the Jedi Knight chapter to flourish. Shock rejoined the eXistence a few weeks later. Soon after, more tension arose among the higher ranks. Bibles, Noon, Manix and SubZero conspired to take over the eXistence for the reason that Korzac wasn?t focused on helping eXistence progress. SubZero later decided that he should be the only one leading the eXistence. Shortly before the announcement was made, Manix told Korzac of the plan due to the flaws in it. After discussing the plan, Korzac and Manix came to the conclusion that the plan would not be put into action. Bibles and Noon left the eXistence shortly afterwards due to personal reasons, before Korzac could pass sentence on them. SubZero quit the eXistence clan and created his own. Manix was pardoned. Since Noon was gone, bwp_2001 became the new Chapter Commander of Jedi Knight, and Manix became a General. Jedi Knight received a wave of new recruits under their combined leadership, including Brian, Soul, and Cloud. Other chapters began to emerge, such as Jedi Outcast (JO). However, the GIA was also there. This renewed the GIA's hatred of eXistence for daring to intervene in a game they claimed had been ?unofficially reserved for the GIA in which eXistence was not to enter?. Rivix, Chapter Commander of Jedi Outcast, eventually resigned. This was not due to the GIA's presence; he did not have any help with the chapter and he was tired of gaming and needed time off. He left on a high-note with the eXistence members, and the Jedi Outcast chapter was marked unsuccessful. After this in May 2003, Director Xul and Director Tetsuma created an Academy for Jedi Knight to train any eXistence members who wished to better their skills. Future leaders Jai (rejoined), Zyrene (a.k.a. Realm), and Himura were recruited shortly after, Shaatar rejoined and was admitted to the Illuminati when Locke became inactive, and eXistence doubled its size in the early months of summer 2003. Part 4 From July through August of 2003, the Galactic Imperial Army and the eXistence encountered the greatest clash they?d had since the eXistence Imperial Army was formed. It began with Manix suddenly joining the GIA with Amoke joining his side shortly after. All of this was due to an organized mission by the two of them and Nightstryke. Amoke and Manix were both given high ranks by Lord Darchind. Manix began a series of devastating attacks on eXistence members, especially the new eXistence recruits. Other members of the GIA, including Seknem, quickly joined in. It was later discovered that Nightstryke had collaborated with Manix to send him ?undercover? by pretending he was defecting to the GIA only to spy on them and hack their website. Facts are still uncertain on whether he actually did hack the GIA and whether he was only pretending to defect or if he really intended to. Amoke was thought to have no plans for spying on GIA, claiming he merely wished to join an active clan and was disappointed in eX?s lack of progress, though his resignation and subsequent admission into GIA couldn?t have come at a worse time. Nightstryke was pardoned for his part in the deal after he confessed to it. During this time, bwp_2001 was also promoted to the Illuminati and Shock became the new Chapter Commander of Jedi Knight. Since Amoke was not the Vice-President anymore, Nightstryke, the 3rd in command as Chief Engineer of eXistence, assumed temporary command until a proper election for Vice President could be held later. Korzac then went on a leave of absence due to further legal issues. Then in early September, a hacker known as Ganondorf, who was affiliated with the GIA, launched a war on the eXistence and, after hacking into bwp_2001?s e-mail account and at least 2 other eXistence members' e-mail accounts, learned the password for the message board and shut it down. The rest of September was spent trying to restore the message board, until Korzac reappeared with a backup, only to have Korzac take another leave of absence to resolve the legal issues. Part 5 With the message board restored, a call for more communication and stronger democracy was issued throughout the eXistence, resulting in the Illuminati?s evolution into the High Council, sworn to focus more on communicating with members and headed by bwp_2001, Nightstryke, and Shaatar (Director Xul and Director Tetsuma having gone inactive). An election was held to determine who would officially be Vice President. Shock was the one chosen to collect the votes, and after a discussion with Nightstryke, they both agreed to collaborate together to rig the election. Nightstryke was declared the new Vice-President of the eXistence, when it was bwp_2001 who was elected Vice-President by the members. Shock later confessed to eXistence about what he did. Upon learning about the rigged election, the members of eXistence met in the old ez-board forum and discussed ejecting Nightstryke from the High Council. Upon learning this, Nightstryke quit eXistence but still allowed eXistence to use his server for the message board. Shock also resigned from eXistence for a month, before asking a pardon in October and being readmitted. Korzac returned shortly thereafter, and eXistence began a campaign of expanding in earnest to many different games. DarkNight, a recent recruit, began the StarCraft chapter, Ryan and Neomatt began the Galactic Battlegrounds (GB) chapter, and bwp_2001 restored the inactive Age of Empires 2 (AoE2) chapter. Himura and Realm were chosen as the two new High Council members. Quite a few old-time members returned, then disappeared, then returned again as activity fluctuated during the winter (with names such as Subzero and Maniac being readmitted), and future leaders such as eX_Zibbit_A (a.k.a. Vasectomy) and Excalibur (a.k.a. Never) were recruited. Test Chapters were created as a means for expanding into new games, beginning with X-Box Live (XBL), Warcraft 3 (WC3), and Free Online Gaming (FOG), and the largest number of recruits in eXistence?s history were accumulated during this highly successful time spanning from December of 2003 through January of 2004. Part 6 In February of 2004 we made a hasty and unprepared move to a new server, as Korzac and Link, formerly known as Shock, did not trust Nightstryke anymore due to the fact that Nightstryke was still the server administrator, was reading the High Council forum, and telling certain eXistence members about the content therein. The new server was up for a month before it was abruptly shut down due to the host suffering from financial difficulties, and eXistence was left adrift with no message board for weeks, creating one of the worst blows to eXistence?s number of members in its history. After trying ez-board, eXistence created a small but safe ProBoards forum, and members began to trickle back at a slow pace. Then Link came up with enough money to purchase a PHP forum, and the original forums were restored in early March. Realm had since gone inactive and Himura had quit due to personal reasons, and so first Link and then DarkNight were admitted as High Council members. Jai was promoted to Jedi Knight Commander, Subzero became the Chapter Commander for X-Box Live, recent recruit Soal became the Chapter Commander for Runescape, and Protoman became the Chapter Commander for Jedi Academy. Link and Cloud then created a new website for eXistence, and many old members such as Locke, Manix, Amoke, Xul, Venturous, and FallenAngelEnsis returned either as members or as guests. Link and bwp_2001 then created a new compressed list of ranks for eXistence, with a list of responsibilities and rules for each rank, while Shaatar revised the eXistence codes of conduct. However, during this time Korzac officially resigned first as President and then from eXistence altogether due to a lack of activity and less time available for eXistence. This was encouraged by a list of evidence from various members that suggested he?d recently lied to the High Council, but he left on good terms with the eXistence. Part 7 During the summer, Jedi Academy became one of the defining chapters of eXistence, while X-Box Live began to diminish with the loss of Korzac. Much of the recent members of eXistence were recruited then and have stuck with us since, other than those who had already been with eXistence for a substantial amount of time, including the return of Soul/Raw and Brian. The High Council took a vote and decided to give all the members of the High Council equal power, permanently dissolving the ranks of President and Vice President. The message board was improved, tournaments were held in Jedi Knight, and the Jedi Knight Academy was revitalized by Jedi Knight Commander Jai, resulting in the formation of the Masters sub-ranks for the Academy, led by Vasectomy, Link, FallenAngelEnsis, and later Soul/Raw. Activity began to decline slowly by fall, and several members left, including Subzero and Maniac, who had been fighting for quite some time. X-Box Live was left to Excalibur/Never and Krony, while Jedi Knight began to show a decrease in activity in general, resulting in slower recruiting for eXistence. A few old-time members returned, such as Realm, Himura, Feanor, and Rivix. New ideas such as the creation of a clan history and medals began to be tossed around, but other members were dissatisfied. In October, Raw made a deal with the ever-opportunistic Darchind and gave him his account information for the message board so that Darchind could read posts in various forums. This prompted Darchind to register under his own name and begin yet another string of attacks on the High Council, claiming the High Council was concealing its past, lying to eXistence members, and silencing anyone who spoke against them. The members of eXistence vehemently denied this as a majority, but Raw and Darchind used freedom of speech as justification for their assaults upon eXistence. When it was learned that Raw and Darchind had collaborated, the High Council took action and banned Darchind, then ejected Raw from eXistence. Part 8 Shortly after Raw was ejected, more Galactic Imperial Army members visited the eXistence' forums, including Savage and Seknem, along with former eXistence members Subzero and Maniac/Cowboy. While the GIA members initially came in peace, they quickly turned to challenges and insults when it became clear that eXistence did not wish to counter Darchind's theats as a clan, though individual eXistence members were arguing with GIA members in their own forum. Subzero was given membership again upon request, but the X-Box Live chapter needed leadership, and so Krony and Never were promoted to General, serving as leaders of the chapter in place of a Chapter Commander. Vasectomy proposed the idea of a Clan Representative, a member elected by all non-High Council members of eXistence to serve as a temporary High Council member for 3 months. Elections were held in early December, and Jai became the first Clan Representative. Despite such a presentation of diplomatic procedure, the GIA resumed its assaults on eXistence, claiming the High Council was using peer pressure and denying members of eXistence the truth about many events. They claimed victory over eXistence shortly after Christmas when eXistence did not rise to their challenges and when long-time member Brian left the clan. Despite such shortcomings, the eXistence continued to thrive and made peace with Raw when Darchind denied ever making a deal with Raw and Raw subsequently saw the error of his ways. eXistence also saw a renewed activity from Korzac since the initial debates with Darchind in November. Part 9 In early January Shaatar officially resigned from eXistence and the High Council after months of inactivity. Shortly thereafter Subzero decided to quit the eXistence and join with the Galactic Imperial Army, prompting a new wave of eXistence members individually visiting GIA's forums and reviving old arguments. During one of the Sunday clan meetings it was decided that all eXistence members should ignore GIA in all forms, but individual encounters with GIA members continued, adding more fuel to the conflicts. To ensure eXistence remained strong, bwp_2001 wrote up alliances for the clans of Sith Mercenaries (SM), a former Jedi Knight clan, and The Force Confederation (TFC), a long-time enemy of GIA whom Lord Talon of eXistence referred us to and later left eXistence to join with. TFC became the first ally of eXistence in over a year, while SM declared friendship with eXistence but decided to revise the treaty first. Shortly thereafter, eXistence was hit by one of the most serious blows since the summer of 2003. The High Council member Link made a closed-door treaty with Darchind that if his ideas were not approved in eXistence he would leave eXistence for GIA, which he did in mid-February. As host of the eXistence server, he closed both the message board and the website and left eXistence in a state of chaos. The GIA declared victory again in their forums and many members such as Realm began to argue for a fight openly. Several temporary message boards were created by various eXistence members, but ultimately Korzac came forward and established his own server. He invited a guest of eXistence named Reno along with Cloud, Vasectomy, TFC member Narsil, and DarkNight to recreate the forums of eXistence, and within days a backup of the original forum was reestablished. But the forum did not last longer than 2 weeks before it was closed down. None of the administrators could find the reason, but GIA created a rumor that Vasectomy and Darchind had a treaty to erase the forums and force eXistence to rely on Vasectomy more closely. This was proven false, and while the means that the forum was deleted remained uncertain, the last 2 accounts to login before its destruction were Link (now known as Annubis) and Darchind, therefore placing suspicion primarily on them. Part 10 This part is the most recent and is updated monthly. Several days after the second recent deletion of the forums, using Korzac's server again Cloud created a new PHP forum from scratch. Annubis began speaking with members again, but has assured eXistence he means harm and will continue to fight us, prompting his ban from the new forums as well as Darchind's, after Darchind began a series of antagonistic and harassing posts in the new forums. Former-High Council member Realm left eXistence for personal reasons and left on fairly good terms. The possibility of a co-clan server between TFC and eXistence is being discussed in detail, while SM continues to look over the treaty for an alliance. SM member Nesseight has created a basic outline for a website, and other eXistence engineers are specifying the details of a future website. With the retirement of Shaatar and the betrayal of Link, elections have begun for the next High Council member, which the clan will vote on and from the top 3 most voted members the High Council will choose the 4th member. The Clan Representative will also be chosen for the next 3 months soon.
