The is a
Class III Railroad in the
United States . The railway began operation January 1, 2006.
The railway was created after
Four Rivers Transportation, Inc. , the parent company of the
Paducah And Louisville Railway , leased 124 miles of track from Howell Yard in
Evansville, Indiana to
Okawville, Illinois from
CSX Transportation . The line was formerly part of the
Louisville & Nashville Railroad 's
Evansville, Indiana to
East St. Louis, Illinois line. There is expected to be 55,000 to 60,000 carloads a year on the new short line.
