Ethelbert Woodbridge Nevin




Born in Edgeworth, Pennsylvania , he debuted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1886 . His musical education in Boston and Germany led him to spend most of his time in composition for piano. He died in New Haven, Connecticut .

He is known primarily for the composition of the extremely familiar piano piece, ''Narcissus'' from ''Water Scenes.''
