He played a number of concerts during that stretch and was the drummer on the recording of the classic song " Born To Run ". Future E Street drummer Max Weinberg later said that Carter devised a Jazz Fusion part on that record that Weinberg could never reproduce in concert, and eventually stopped attempting. Carter left the E Street Band along with pianist David Sancious to form the band Tone . |
