He is especially interested in finding out the whereabouts of Methos, the mythical oldest living Immortal. Joe Dawson alarms MacLeod and, after an old Watcher named Dan Salzer is killed by Kalas, sends Duncan to meet the young grad student Adam Pierson, who is said to be a Methos expert. Arriving at Pierson´s house, Duncan finds out to his great surprise that Adam is an Immortal and guesses right, that the guy is nobody else as Methos himself. Duncan warns him about Kalas, who would with Methos´s quickening gain the strength necessary to defeat MacLeod. Methos offers his head to Duncan but he won´t take it. A duell between MacLeod and Kalas stays then unfinished because due to Methos´s phone call policemen arrive and arrest Kalas. Joe Dawson is amazed to learn about the true identity of Pierson/Methos, who disappears without leaving any trace.
