The current Diocesan Bishop of Southeast Florida is the Cuban -born Right Reverend Leopold Frade . The Assistant Bishop of the Diocese is the Right Reverend James H. Ottley . The cathedral church - and consequently the seat of the bishop - of the diocese is Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Miami . The diocese currently comprises 83 churches.

HISTORY

The Diocese of Southeast Florida first became an independent diocese in 1969. The diocese was previously a part of the Diocese Of South Florida , which split to form the dioceses of Central , Southwest and Southeast Florida due to its size.
