Seventeen years later there were six churches, and these parishes elected the first Bishop of Georgia, Stephen Elliott . The Diocese of Atlanta (northwestern Georgia) was set apart from the Diocese of Georgia in 1907. The Diocese of Georgia now covers the southeast 32,994 square miles of the State of Georgia, and Savannah is the See City. EXTERNAL LINKS |
