Information AboutEntity Life History Diagram |
|
It is used by analysts to explore and document the complete cycle of an entity, making sure that they understand how it is created, amended and finally deleted. Information for each entity is shown on the Entity life history as a box. These boxes are combined using a notation developed by Michael A. Jackson , developer of Jackson Structured Programming with sequence shown from left to right, iteration by an asterisk and option by a small circle. Its focus on events also makes it particularly appropriate in the design of event based interfaces. The model also prompts analysts to explore and document the deletion and archiving issues fairly early in the systems development life cycle. It is unlikely that other models, such as the Data Flow Diagram , would highlight such issues. |
