''Entertainment Tonight'' is a daily Television entertainment news magazine that is Syndicated by CBS Paramount Domestic Television throughout the United States and Canada . The show is the most popular and longest-running entertainment news program, with its first broadcast on September 14 , 1981 . In its current form, it is the first half in a one-hour entertainment news block that also includes its spinoff, '' The Insider '' (although in some markets, due to certain local broadcast rights issues concerning both shows airing on different stations in one market, a re-edited "day behind" is, originally aired the previous day version airs). A weekly recap edition with occasional special themed episodes, ''ET Weekend'' (formerly known as ''Entertainment This Week''), is also produced. ''ET Radio Minute'', a daily radio feature, is syndicated by Westwood One . HOSTS It is currently hosted by Mary Hart and Mark Steines with several correspondents, including Jann Carl (who co-hosts the weekend edition with Kevin Frazier ), Carlos Ponce , Vanessa Minnillo , Leonard Maltin , and Steven Cojocaru . Previous hosts include Robb Weller , Leeza Gibbons , John Tesh , Bob Goen , Chrishaunda Lee and Julie Moran . Maria Menounos left ''ET'' in 2005 to join '' Access Hollywood ''. Paula Abdul is a special correspondent for ''ET'''s coverage of '' American Idol '' and Tatum O'Neal for the second season of '' Dancing Wtih The Stars ''.
