Elysium Source is an Open Source online Rpg game maker created in Visual Basic 6.0 . HISTORY To start off, I'll explain the basics. Elysium is the open source version of Konfuze Engine. That is it. The first version of Konfuze, called "Christmas Edition", was basically Mirage Source with a new GUI . The community was young and growing, but Playerworlds still was the most powerful engine around. At the time, the main programmers were Unreal and GodSentDeath (as they call themselves on the forums). The next version of Konfuze, Milestone Edition, far surpassed Playerworlds, and soon made it one of the best MS engines. However, in the process of coding it, some tensions had risen amoungst the programmers. Coke felt like he couldnt keep up to the other programmers anymore and left the project. After he left, the whole community got worse. The website went down a lot and the programmers were talking about releasing the source, which upset many members but exitied others. Eventually, the source was released. Magnus, the person who was hosting the web page, shut it down, but Pingu took over hosting it. For a long time, the boards grew and went very well with a great communtiy helping each other make new games and engines using the source code. However, it couldn't last. An internal fight over the features of the next version caused Elysium to crumble. Atlantis, Ozzy, ScriptWisdom, and DarkAngel (all forum names) broke off with Elysium to create their own community. The original Elysium site died instantly and was down for a few days. Eventually, fighting in the alternate community caused another community to come into existance and the rebirth of the old Elysium. Elysium existed in three different states for a month or so. Elysium, Elysium Blue, and GreenTail. However, as I am writing this now, Elysium Blue and GreenTail have merged their communities into Elysium Blue's old forum. Meanwhile, Elysium is trying to break off all ties with the alternate communities in an attempt to start anew.
