COURSE The Elk is formed by the confluence of Big Sugar Creek and Little Sugar Creek at Pineville, Missouri , and flows generally westward through McDonald County, Missouri , past the town of Noel , into Delaware County, Oklahoma , where it meets the Neosho River.
