Zimbabwe elects on national level a Head Of State - the President - and a Legislature . The president is elected for a six year term by the people.
and 12 appointed members, 8 Governor s and 10 elected chiefs. The Senate ''' has 66 members: 50 elected for a five year term in single-seat constituencies, 6 appointed members, and 10 elected chiefs.

Zimbabwe is a One Party Dominant State with the Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front in power. Opposition Parties are allowed - recently arrived on the scene is the Movement For Democratic Change led by Morgan Tsvangirai .
