The ''' Senate ''' has 109 members, elected for a four year term in 36 three-seat Constituencies (corresponding to the country's States ) and one seat in a single-seat constituency (the federal capital, Abuja ). Nigeria has a Multi-party system, with two or three strong Parties and a third party that is electorally successful.
