Binns was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . After appearing in a number of Broadway plays, Binns begain appearing in films in the early 1950s. Some of his notable roles include playing Juror #6 (the painter) in '' 12 Angry Men '' and Major General Walter Bedell Smith in the Academy Award -winning film '' Patton '' (1970). Binns also appeared in dozens of television programs including being a cast member of '' It Takes A Thief '' (1969-1970).
