Perkins was born in Memphis, Tennessee , his mother was widowed when she raised Dwight in Chicago . Perking did not finish high school, but he was accepted to study architecture at the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology in 1885. He studied for two years, and worked as an instructor for another year. |
