George 'Dusty' Rhodes, born July 23rd 1916 in Clowne , Derbyshire, UK. A British Army Sergeant in the 70th Field Regiment Royal Artillery in the Second World War 1939 - 1945 who fought in the British Eighth ArmyNorth Africa Campaign against Field Marshal Rommel's Deutsches Afrika Korps and at Salerno in Italy (as well as other locations in Africa, the Middle East and Europe) commanding a gun team armed with an Ordnance QF 25 Pounder field gun and a Morris C8 'QUAD'. George 'Dusty' Rhodes wrote a personal history of the Second World War entitled 'Under the Oak Tree'.
