Dolans Bay is a Suburb of Sydney , in the state of New South Wales , Australia . It is located on the north shore of the Port Hacking estuary, in the south of Sydney's suburban area. To get to Dolans Bay you can use Port Hacking Road, or Saunders Bay Road both of which lead to Lilli Pilli Pt and Wally's Wharf. Once in the Dolans Bay area, you will find it's boat ramp on South Turriel Point Road. Then at the Wharf, you will have access to a great protected picnic area and all points of the Hacking River System. Wally's Wharf has a deep hole off the end perfect for fishing. Just around the point from Wally's Wharf, is Little Turriel Point. This is where the Shiprock Aquatic Reserve is located. This is accessed from Shiprock Rd which has great views of the Port Hacking river. To get there you go to the end of Shiprock Rd, and through a hidden track which is at the end of the cul-de-sac on the right hand side. "Shiprock" is a very famous diving location. Deep below the rock ledge is a small under water cave with an air cavity, apparently caused due to diver's air bubbles being trapped. Dolans Bay is a small bay on the edge Burraneer Bay with a private marina and slipway with full repair facilities. Houses overlook the bay and some line the waters edge accompanying many boatsheds. Moored boats fill the bay up offering protection from the howling southerly wind.
