Information About

Dixie Deans

The Johnstone-born Dixie Deans was a prolific centre-forward for Celtic during the 1970s , under the management of Jock Stein and his successor Billy McNeill . He later moved to England and played for Luton Town and Carlisle United without success.

He was nicknamed 'Dixie' in honour of the great English centre-forward Dixie Dean .

He now runs a bar called Dixie's in Rutherglen, Glasgow, a great wee bar with great clientele and a good atmosphere, half decent juke box and good bar staff.
