District Of Alberta (electoral District)

Alberta (Provisional District) was a federal Electoral District in the Northwest Territories , Canada .

HISTORY

The Alberta Provisional District was created in 1886 when the Northwest Territories gained representation in the Canadian House Of Commons . It had the same boundaries of the District Of Alberta , a subdivision of the Northwest Territories. In 1905 , Alberta became a province of Canada, and the electoral district continued as an Alberta federal electoral district covering the southern part of the province until 1907 , when the district was dissolved into Macleod and Medicine Hat .
