Dinner (play)

SYNOPSIS

A Real-time play, ''Dinner'' depicts a dinner party thrown by a suicidal society lady named Paige, ostensibly in honour of her husband Lars' new pseudo-philosophical book entitled ''Beyond Belief''. At the beginning of the play, all appears to be running smoothly: the food is prepared, the hired waiter is the essence of discretion. However, as the evening progresses, Paige's behaviour becomes steadily more outrageous, until it becomes clear that this dinner was an act of revenge against her husband for their failing marriage. At the very end of the play, it is revealed that the waiter is an assassin, whom Paige has hired to kill her in front of the other guests. He does so, and the other characters are left in shock as the curtain falls.
