Diamond Hill (鑽石山) is a hill in Kowloon , Hong Kong . The area on or nearby is also called Diamond Hill. It is surrounded by Ngau Chi Wan , San Po Kong , Wong Tai Sin and Tsz Wan Shan . Its northeast is limited by the ridge. Although Diamond Hill carries the name Diamond, it has no diamond mine at all. Diamond Hill Urn Cemetery is high in the hill. There were Squatter huts up and down the hill that were demolished after years effort by the Hong Kong Government . The villages of Sheung Yuen Leng and Ha Yuen Leng were notable examples. MTR Diamond Hill Station is near the bottom of the hill with a large shopping centre, Plaza Hollywood , nearby in the area. The shopping centre was named Hollywood to associate it with the former Movie Studio nearby, where many films were produced after WWII . Tate's Cairn Tunnel has its Kowloon entrance in Diamond Hill. The Buddhist Chi Lin Nunnery (志蓮淨苑), was built according to the style of the Tang Dynasty and is a Tourist sight. |
