The school has major areas of focus in the fields of computing, nursing, and vocational training. It generally provides only two year associates degrees in any area of study, however DMACC enjoys close ties with the three major regent universities in Iowa, Iowa State University , University Of Iowa , and University Of Northern Iowa , prompting many of its students to move onto higher learning.
