GEOGRAPHY Deer Park is located at 39°12'14" North, 84°23'48" West (39.203792, -84.396744). According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 2.2 Km&2 (0.9 Mi&2 ). 2.2 km&2 (0.9 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 5,982 people, 2,634 households, and 1,496 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 2,685.7/km&2 (6,979.0/mi&2). There were 2,723 housing units at an average density of 1,222.5/km&2 (3,176.8/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 96.52% White , 1.69% African American , 0.18% Native American , 0.69% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.22% from Other Races , and 0.70% from two or more races. 0.67% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 2,634 households out of which 25.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.0% were Married Couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 43.2% were non-families. 39.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.18 and the average family size was 2.94. In the city the population was spread out with 21.8% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
