Darbandokeh, was a village which was previously inhabited by both Kurds and Assyrians . It is located in Northern Iraq within the Harir Plains. The Assyrians of Darbandokeh came right after the Assyrian Genocide s that took place within the Ottoman Empire . The Assyrians which inhabited Darbandokeh came from the Shamezdin Region located within Hakkari , Turkey. Today, the village of Darbandokeh has no Assyrians remaining in it. Darbandokeh is the birthplace of many great Assyrians. It is where the current Patriarch of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church Of The East , Mar Dinkha IV , was born.
