A Custom Debian Distribution (a.k.a CDD) is a subset of , some changes can be merged back to the Debian project but the CDD build and all the new or modified packages aren't.

A Custom Debian Distribution can contain multiple flavors (or profiles) (e.g. Skolelinux has flavors for main-server, workstation, and thin-client-server)


CHILDREN DISTRIBUTIONS

The Debian based GNU/Linux distributions, that don't aim to merge back all the changes to the parent project or follow its policies are considered children distros and not CDDs.
