Curtis Price KBE is the Principal of the Royal Academy Of Music and a professor of music at the University Of London . In 2005, Professor Price was made an honorary Knight Commander of the British Empire ( KBE ) in recognition of his services to music. Price received his undergraduate musical training at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and completed his Ph.D. at Harvard University . He moved to the UK in 1981 to teach at King's College London , latterly as Head of Department. He has been Principal of the Royal Academy Of Music since 1995 , and was made a University Of London Professor in 2000 . He is a Trustee of Musica Britannica , the Handel House Museum and the National Sound Archive , and is a Governor of the Purcell School . |
