Crime Victim Advocacy Program

This program, located in SW Washington state in the counties of Clark, Whakiakum , and Cowlitz , was started in January 2006 for the expressed purpose of helping victims of general crime.

"General Crime" is defined as any crime committed that is not domestic or sexual in nature. Common examples of general crime are: murder, Robbery , identity theft, Burglary , vandalism, Hate Crimes , Assault , and threats.

Typically, victims of general crime are an underserved group. Most victim advocacy programs focus on either DV (domestic violence) or SA (sexual assault). Added to this, is the large group of persons who are unfamiliar with the US Criminal Justice System , due to recent Immigration , language barriers, and/or plain ignorance. C.V.A.P. seeks out this contigent of people in order to "reach the unreached", and give them support during an extremely tough time in their lives.

Chris Knox, B.S. Biological Anthropology runs the CVAP program in Clark County, with his office based out of Vancouver, WA.
