''Crime Fiction,'' a feature-length independent film slated for release in 2006, tracks the rise and fall of struggling crime novelist James Cooper. Unable to reconcile the failure of his first novel with the popularity of his girlfriend Hilary's recently published memoir, Cooper kills Hilary, buries her body in a cornfield and then writes a best-selling novel about the crime. ''Crime Fiction'' stars Jonathan Eliot, The Daily Show 's Dan Bakkedahl , Christian Stolte ( Prison Break ), Amy Sloan ( The Aviator ) and Yasen Peyankov ( Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble member). The cast also features actress Deborah Leydig ( Rock Star ). ''Crime Fiction'' was written by Jonathan Eliot, directed by Will Slocombe, and produced by Graham Ballou and Jonathan E.
