Copper Canyon is adjacent to the master-planned Lantana residential development, which is currently not incorporated. The population of Lantana was 3,800 as of March 2006.


GEOGRAPHY


Copper Canyon is located at 33°5'56" North, 97°5'41" West (33.098814, -97.094646).

According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 11.6 Km&2 (4.5 Mi&2 ). 11.5 km&2 (4.4 mi&2) of it is land and 0.22% is water.


DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,216 people, 407 households, and 354 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 105.5/km&2 (273.0/mi&2). There were 423 housing units at an average density of 36.7/km&2 (95.0/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 96.63% White , 0.58% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.33% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.66% from Other Races , and 1.81% from two or more races. 4.03% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 407 households out of which 42.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.3% were Married Couples living together, 4.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 12.8% were non-families. 9.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.99 and the average family size was 3.20.

In the town the population was spread out with 28.1% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 31.4% from 45 to 64, and 6.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 111.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.6 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $96,745, and the median income for a family was $96,524. Males had a median income of $72,321 versus $37,417 for females. The Per Capita Income for the town was $36,827. 2.1% of the population and 2.3% of families were below the Poverty Line . 1.7% of those under the age of 18 and 4.8% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
