USAGE This number is generated whenever a third-party Internet Service Provider requests for an ADSL account to be provisioned on BT Group Plc 's telephone network and allows them to maintain a link between their own customer account records and the BT connection. It is also used when an ISP migrates a customer from one core telephone provider to another. FORMAT Each number consists of a prefix of CBUK, followed by an eight-digit number (e.g. ''CBUK12345678''). MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION Other core telephony providers have their own equivalent to a CBUK number; however, these are not to be confused with a Migration Authorisation Code , which is used for migrations from one third-party ISP to another.
