To become certified, candidates are expected to be knowledgeable about principles of Geriatric Pharmacotherapy and the provision of pharmaceutical care to the Elderly . The Vision of CCGP is to ensure that all seniors receive high-quality pharmaceutical care from Certified Geriatric Pharmacists; and that CCGP certified pharmacists are recognized as the preferred providers of pharmaceutical care to seniors. CCGP was founded in 1997 by the American Society Of Consultant Pharmacists and is based in Alexandria, Virginia .
