=Dawn Stories= In Linsner's Dawn stories the Goddess play a central role, though she is not always the main character. The world where the comics take place contains several dimensions and realities. The Darrian centered stories ''Lucifer's Halo'' and the ''Three Tiers'' take place in a mix between medieval and modern. He lives among the buildings of the New York we know, complete with advertising for Coca-cola and Canon. However, in this world almost all traces of technology are gone. No cars or guns can be seen, people carry swords instead. The few traces of technology we can see have often been adapted in primitive ways. This might be the result of some unknown collapse or disaster or simply the way this reality is. Dawn has hinted that she has personal interest in this reality and watches it closely. In the ''Return of the Goddess'' the world seems to be exactly like our own, with cars, television and other technology. DRAMA Drama is a single issue comic containing three stories, ''The Fall of the Goddess'', ''Psychobabble'' and ''Angry Christ''. Drama introduces many of the main Characters of Linsner’s works. Dawn, Death , Ahura Mazda (God) , Lucifer , Darrian Ashoka, Jaynis Goldbaum are all seen as well as Linsner's vampire Esque . The first two stories work as an introduction to ''Lucifer’s Halo''. ''The Fall of the Goddess'' is the first Dawn story and provides her back-story. It tells of the young goddess meeting with Death and how he grants her knowledge of Heaven and Hell and of what lies beyond. By taking Dawn as his spouse Death grants her ability to travel to any plane and dimension she wish. The end of the story leaves a wiser but less innocent goddess. The pain of what she's experienced left her with the trademark three tears running from her eye. ''Psychobabble'' is a dreamlike, loosely structured series of scenes that for the most part follows Darrian. ''Angry Christ'' is a collection of quotes from several holy books combined with illustrations of Dawn and Darrian. The quotes are taken from the Apocryphal Book Of Enoch , the Zoroastrian Zend Avesta Of Zarathustra , the Qur'an , the Buddhist Dhammapada , the Hindu Upanishads and Mahabharata and the Bible LUCIFER’S HALO Lucifer's Halo is a six issues mini-series following Darrian Ashoka in his search for understanding of himself and the world around him. Darrian lives in New York together with his best friend Jaynis Goldbaum. After meeting Dawn one night he leaves his unsympathetic friend Jaynis and sluty unfaithful girlfriend Adelle to find Heaven. We also get to see Dawn in Heaven where Ahura Mazda asks her a favor, to return or destroy Lucifer's halo. The halo is a remnant from the time when Lucifer was an angel and Ahura Mazda wants to destroy all Lucifer’s reminders from the time when they were lovers. Dawn however does not return or destroy the halo. She gives it to Darrian. The fact that Lucifer's halo is in the hand of a mortal is insufferable for both Heaven and Hell and soon both angels and daemons comes to Darrian demanding its return. In the end of the series still haven't found any great truth but at least he now feels free, both from the past and the pressure of others. He boards a sail driven old aircraft carrier heading for Europe, hoping that he'll one day see Dawn again. RETURN OF THE GODDESS THREE TIERS |
