GEOGRAPHY Columbine Valley is located at 39°35'58" North, 105°2'14" West (39.599665, -105.03736). According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 2.6 Km&2 (1.0 Mi&2 ). 2.6 km&2 (1.0 mi&2) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,132 people, 429 households, and 369 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 428.5/km&2 (1,105.3/mi&2). There were 436 housing units at an average density of 165.0/km&2 (425.7/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 96.73% White , 0.35% African American , 0.09% Native American , 1.59% Asian , 0.18% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 1.06% from two or more races. 1.50% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 429 households out of which 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 82.5% were Married Couples living together, 2.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.8% were non-families. 12.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.64 and the average family size was 2.87. In the town the population was spread out with 23.4% under the age of 18, 3.2% from 18 to 24, 16.3% from 25 to 44, 37.1% from 45 to 64, and 20.0% who were 65 years of age or older.
