Colonel Burton's main weapon is a minigun, which can damage any type of ground unit at long range. His other armanents are a knife and demolition charges. The knife allows him to kill infantry at short range without revealing himself to the enemy. One problem with this in is that infantry units owned by a player using General Rodall 'Demo' Juhziz will self-destruct when they die, resulting in Burton being killed. A bug in an early version of the game allowed Col. Burton to "knife" even aircraft, but this was fixed in subsequent patch. The demolition charges can either be set as timed (with a 20-second fuse) or remote (detonated on your command) versions. They are fairly effective, however they do little damage to heavily armoured buildings such as an enemy Command Center, and if Burton is killed any outstanding Remote charges will disappear. Either type can be defused if the opponent uses the 'clear explosives' ability of a construction unit before the charges detonate. In addition to his weapons, Burton's effectiveness is improved by his mobility (he can scale cliffs) and stealth (like the other two hero units he is invisible unless he fires a weapon or gets too close to a stealth-detecting unit such as a radar van or base defence). |
