STYLE CODC has incorporated elements from grind, death, hardcore, grooving, black, crust, noise, thrash, and countless other sub-genres and styles of extreme Metal into their music. This has led to the creation of a very unique and original style of grindcore that are trademark to CODC. For example, fans of the band will note the exceptionally dark and dreary atmosphere of the group. Even CODC themselves admits that a major reason for chosing their grotesque name was to create an uneasy feeling in the listener, thus increasing the fright value of their work. In fact, as far as lyrics are concerned CODC adheres strictly to a psycological horror style rather than the shockingly gorey habits found in most goregrind bands, although members of CODC admit that they personally enjoy listening to goregrind. Another notable factor in CODC's music are the almost inhuman sounding and virtually unintelligable vocals, far more extreme than what is found in most death metal bands. These vocals range from deep, growling Death Grunt s to high-pitched Black Metal style shrieks. Vocalist Joe Horvath greatly prides in his beastlike growls and screams, as he has rarely ever processed his singing and so it is virtually all natural vocals. (There are some occassional exceptions in their later works, but only from the album "Human Harvest" onward.) Despite the fact that the lyrics cannot be interpretted simply by listening to them alone, CODC expects its listeners to pay not only attention to the music, but to the lyrics as well, as members truly feel that the songs are deep and meaningful. The band has followed the traditional grindcore format originally set up by infamous grindcore/ Death Metal band Napalm Death in the sense that the songs are abnormally short in length. (Often less than a minute.) A notable example would be the six second long track "White Trash Headache." However, individual songs vary greatly in length, as some masy occasionally surpass four minutes or more in length. Because of this, CODC tend to have relatively short albums despite having as much as nineteen tracks on one disc. MEMBERS
