It was registered in 1973 as a non-profit association, and in 1979 it became a private foundation with a board consisting of several public institutions and individuals. CIDOB Foundation became in 1997 a University Institute On International Studies (IUEI). The users of CIDOB are national and international public institutions, non governmental organisations ( NGO s), companies in the areas of export, financial and publishing, media, experts and professionals, university students and individuals interested in international issues.
