This Church of Jesus Christ in Zion was not associated with either the Church Of Scientology or the 1987-1997 non-denominational organization which was also called the Church Of Jesus Christ In Zion . On May 11 , 1984 , this group merged with the Missionary Church of Our Savior, who had previously been called the '''Church of Scio Logos''' — a group which had broken away from the Church Of Scientology in 1983. Because the earlier organization was vehemently opposed to the Church Of Scientology , the Church of Scientology listed the earlier group on its list of "suppressive organizations". This listing had not yet been removed, however, when the later ''Church of Jesus Christ in Zion'' organized in the late 1980s , thus leading to some confusion. NOTES AND REFERENCES |
