Information About

Church Of God (restoration)

This group claims to closely follow the teachings of the Bible. They believe that God is restoring the church in this present time to its former glory. The Book of Revelation is extensively studied and they claim to have extensive understanding of it. The Church of God (Restoration) has a limited number of congregations worldwide and promotes outreach and mission work.

The doctrines of the church are similar to those of the ''Church Of God (Anderson, Indiana)'' movement in its beginnings but with stronger emphasis on separation (from worldliness) and holiness. Some believe that the doctrine was influenced by ties that the founder, Daniel Layne , may have once had with the Mennonite movement. However, Daniel Layne was never associated with the Mennonite movement but was raised in the ''Church Of God (Anderson, Indiana)'' movement. Sanctification is held as a Second Work Of Grace after justification by faith. They teach that God's will is to unite His people one more time before He returns to take them home. They have no formal membership, though those who attend are expected to adhere to the standards taught by leaders in the movement. They teach that every person that is a true Christian is a member, though this claim is also made by other unaffilated Christian groups.

''The Gospel Trumpet'' is a semi-monthly publication of the church. It is distributed free of charge to over 50 countries worldwide and can be viewed online.
