Chuck Cecil Swinging Years began broadcasting in 1956. The program's main focus was the swinging years and the Big Band era. There is trivia, interviews, music and interviews just to name a few. In 2002, Mr, Cecil celebrated nearly 50 years of broadcasting in Los Angeles. Since 1956, "The Swingin Years" was syndicated on nearly a dozen stations including the former KJYK 94.1 FM Tucson, AZ. At one time, the program enjoyed success on New England powerhouse WCAP (980 khz), the most powerful station north of Boston, before that facility's format evolved to talk. The big band format has faded in recent years and since the early 90's, there has only been a select few radio stations that still play big band. Chuck Cecil's Swinging years is now only syndicated on 9 nine radio stations nationally. Most of them are in California and a few select areas around the country including Georgia and New Hampshire. KKJZ 88.1 FM out of Long Beach, California is the place where you can hear the Swinging Years on Saturday and Sundays from 6AM To 9AM Pacific standard time.
