He was educated at University of Grenoble, Etudes Françaises, University of Oxford, and Harvard University. He is also the recipient of Open Exhibition in English, St John's College, Oxford, Open Scholarship in History, Christ Church, Oxford, Keith Feiling History Prize, Fulbright Scholarship, Knox Fellowship, Harvard,and Sinclair Kennedy Fellowship, Harvard. Chris Brewin is a member of the Royal Institute Of International Affairs , Chatham House , the British International Studies Association , the University Association For Contemporary European Studies , the Turkish Area Study Group, and the Association for Greek, Turkish and Cypriot Affairs.
