Chocolate milk is a Drink concocted from Milk , Cocoa (often processed with Alkali ), sweeteners (usually Sugar , Dextrose , or High Fructose Corn Syrup ), and sometimes other ingredients including Starch , Salt , Carrageenan , Vanilla , and Artificial Flavoring . This mixture should be stored at 0.5 to 4 ° C (33 to 39 °F). At home, chocolate milk can also be prepared by stirring a commercial Chocolate Syrup (1:2) or powder into milk, for immediate consumption. A chocolate milk drinking movement arose on the EFnet and Undernet IRC networks beginning in April 1999 {Link without Title} . In Israel, a popular way to drink chocolate milk is out of a small plastic bag. A cousin of the traditional juicebox, "shoco-bi'sakit" is portable and convenient. However, unlike its straw-utilizing cousin, shoco-bi'sakit is enjoyed by biting a corner of the bag, and sucking the sweet nectar through the small tear. Chocolate milk has been suggested for use after intense workouts for its "magic ratio" of carbohydrates to protein, among other nutritional properties. Chocolate milk has also been employed as a demographic metaphor (e.g. Chocolate City Speech ). SEE ALSO |
