CTM produces a full season of plays and musicals, including reduced-cost weekday matinees for school groups and reduced-price tickets for low-income groups and families, teaches after-school, weekend, and summer acting classes (scholarships available) for children and adults, and holds auditions open to the entire community, regardless of experience. In January of 2006, CTM cancelled its final three 2005-06 season productions and laid off its entire administrative staff, citing cash problems associated with long-term poor management, operation structure, planning, and spending. CTM had been facing financial troubles since April 2004 's production of Camelot (featuring actor George Wendt of Cheers ), in which costs far exceeded profit. The December 2005 production of A Christmas Carol sold out the latter part of its run, Unfortunately, the production also ran wildly over budget, which forced the closing. EXTERNAL LINKS
