The Child Catcher is a fictional and nightmarish character from the beloved book, film, and theatrical productions of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang . He works for the Baron and Baroness of Vulgaria to kidnap and lock up the country's children. "There are children here. I can smell them," says the Child Catcher, as played by Robert Helpmann in the 1968 film. |
