This is a chiefly British dish, often confused with the aforementioned Welsh Rarebit. Other variations include grating the cheese on top, or using spreadable cheese. NAME CONFLICT Quite a number of people, on hearing the term "cheese on toast" automatically think of the melted cheese on toast of Welsh Rarebit, while others use this term to specifically differentiate between the two dishes.
