The Institute has a small Museum which is mainly concerned with the history of fire fighting. In the 17th century insurance companies issued fire marks which their clients had to display on the insured property to prove show that they had purchased cover. The museum has a collection of firemarks and other artefacts relating to the history of fire insurance. It is normally open during office hours but visitors should ring in advance. EXTERNAL LINK |
